NOPAIN Act

In The News

The NOPAIN Act improves patient access to ON-Q and ambIT infusion pumps for post-surgical pain management by providing separate reimbursement for these devices when deemed medically necessary.

This eliminates financial barriers that may exist when the cost of the infusion pump is bundled into the payment for a covered surgical procedure.

Balancing Patient Care and Productivity

Having options for localized pain control reduce the use of opioid medications. This can impact patient outcomes and improve length of stay.

By reducing opioid use, ON-Q* helps you achieve pain control while reducing adverse effects from opioid consumption such as over sedation, post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV), and constipation.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that a multimodal pain regimen utilizing ON-Q* can result in reduced hospital length of stay.

In addition, use of the ambIT Pain Control System, as part of a multimodal approach for pain management following TKA (total knee arthroplasty), has shown statistically significant  reductions in long-term opioid use.
