“Doing everything you can, and then doing a little bit more to help the team win, is doing whatever it takes.”
Chuck Noll, American Football Head Coach, Pittsburgh Steelers, 1969 – 1991

During our last Quarterly Business Review (QBR), I learned about the diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fans among us when they shared the quote above, attributed to Chuck Noll, who is regarded as one of the greatest American football head coaches of all time.
The Power of Teamwork
I love this quote because it highlights the significance of teamwork, where every effort counts, and together, we create extraordinary results. At Avanos, our strength as a team doesn’t lie in our individual accomplishments, it lies in our ability to support and motivate one another. The QBR served as a vivid reminder of this, as we came together to exchange insights and chart a course towards our shared Vision of getting patients back to what matters.
A Shared Commitment
Our commitment to this shared Vision and mutual accountability cuts across every Avanos department and is what will set us apart.
I’ve shared this guidance with our global teams because no matter what role they play at Avanos, they are making a difference. From new hires fresh out of college, to seasoned experts and everyone in between, we all have a direct impact on the Company’s ability to excel.
As we move forward, we’ve issued a rally cry to unite behind a common banner: to rise together as a team, to support one another when needed, and to recognize that every single contribution, no matter how small, adds to our collective achievements.
Together, we will make #TheAvanosDifference.
And to quote Chuck Noll again:
“Good things happen to those who hustle.”
