A Message From Joe Woody

Keeping Dr. King’s Vision Alive

As we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today, it’s clear that his inspirational messages of peace, service and community are just as relevant today as they were 60 years ago.

At Avanos, one of the ways we’re demonstrating our commitment to community is through the work of our DE&I Council and the creation of our DE&I employee resource groups – or ERGs. These employee-led groups provide a means for members to share their voices, educate their peers and bring awareness to specific needs within our greater employee communities.

Six new Avanos ERGs are starting up this year, bringing our total to eight. One of those ERGs – BEAT (Black Employees at Avanos Trailblazing) – will be launching on Feb. 2 during an in-person event at our Alpharetta office. The BEAT event will also kick off Black History Month with an educational video series.

Through their leadership, guidance and commitment to ensuring that all Avanos employees feel valued, respected and heard, our DE&I Council and ERGs are working to keep Dr. King’s vision alive.
